From Beans to Blockchain: Our Coffee Journey at PayPal Dev Day

If you told me a few years ago that coffee and digital currency would one day share the same stage, I probably would’ve laughed mid-sip. But here we are, Win Win Coffee made its way to PayPal Dev Day in San Jose, CA, from April 29 to May 2, and it was nothing short of a surreal blend of tech, community, and, of course, coffee.

Now, I didn’t attend the event myself (so no behind-the-scenes coffee spills to report, this time), but our co-founders were right in the thick of it, brewing up conversation while developers brewed up ideas. I did, however, get the inside scoop on how things went down. And I’ll say this: it’s clear that coffee isn’t just fueling our mornings anymore, it’s fueling innovation.

☕ Coffee Meets Crypto (And We’re Here for It)

One of the big moments from the week was a panel discussion titled: “The Digital Currency Payments Tipping Point.” It happened on April 30, from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM, and drew a crowd of Web2 developers curious about what the future of payments, and maybe even coffee looks like.

And here’s the cool part: PayPal didn’t just throw buzzwords around. They grounded the conversation in real use cases, including how digital currencies like stablecoins could empower merchants and developers alike. It was about making things simpler, not more complicated. That message really resonated, especially for folks like us who care about connection, community, and making things accessible.

🚀 From Web2 to Web3: The Journey of a New Kind of Developer

What I loved most about what I heard from the panel was the personal touch, panelists didn’t just geek out over tech (though, let’s be real, that happened too). They shared their own stories: how they moved from traditional web development to the brave new world of Web3, how they’re solving real merchant problems, and how platforms like PayPal are actually helping developers experiment more easily.

And here’s where coffee comes in: every big idea needs fuel. Every late-night brainstorm, every “what if?” moment, every code sprint that leads to a breakthrough, it all needs a spark. For many of us, that spark comes in a cup.

So, while our co-founders were in San Jose diving into discussions about digital currency integrations, we were holding it down on the bean side, continuing to roast, grind, and brew with purpose.

🌍 Why This Matters for Coffee and You

You might be thinking, "Okay, but what does any of this have to do with my morning brew?"

Here’s the thing: events like Dev Day show us how connected everything is becoming. As technology becomes more seamless, coffee businesses like ours can grow smarter. Imagine tipping your barista with digital dollars, or subscribing to your favorite blend using blockchain-enabled payments, all frictionless and secure.

We’re not quite there yet, but these conversations at PayPal Dev Day? They're laying the foundation. And we’re proud to be part of that wave, not just as coffee makers, but as collaborators in a bigger ecosystem of creators and builders.

🫶 A Win-Win for Everyone

While the event focused on developers and payment innovation, Win Win Coffee was there to remind everyone of something simple: the best ideas happen over great coffee.

Whether you're a tech founder or a tired parent juggling Zoom calls, you deserve a brew that wakes you up and warms your soul. And as we explore new ways to deliver that experience, maybe even through Web3 tools, you can bet we’ll keep one hand on the future and the other on your favorite cup.

💬 Let’s Keep Brewing Possibilities

While this blog doesn’t have a comment section, we’d still love to hear from you! Follow us on Instagram or shoot us a DM and tell us:

  • Would you try a blockchain-powered coffee subscription?

  • What’s the most futuristic coffee experience you’ve ever had?

  • Which of our blends deserves to go crypto-first?

This isn’t just about tech. It’s about building a community that sips, dreams, and creates together.

Until next time—stay curious, stay caffeinated, and keep your mug (and mind) open.
